Ott Farms Vineyard

We are very lucky be surrounded by a ton of great vineyards. That makes it very difficult to pick a favorite but Ott is definitely high on the list. From the views, to the owners, to the regulars, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better place to enjoy a glass, or 6 glasses of wine.

The owners, Michael and Lee, are some of the nicest, most welcoming people you will ever meet. On our first visit to Ott they welcomed us, shared their story, and made us feel like we’d been going their for years. The same can be said for the regulars that we met. It is a vineyard full of the most welcoming people and that is a big reason we keep going back. Well, that and the wine of course!

As I said in a previous post, I am no wine connoisseur but, I have yet to taste a wine here that I don’t like. I prefer a dry red so their Desire Cabernet Franc and Infatuation Red Zinfandel are my go to wines. Whether you prefer red or white wines, you really can’t go wrong here. If you are not a wine drinker, they also have a nice selection of local beers in stock. I prefer the Lechuza Classic which is a beer made by Dry County Brewing Company, out of Kennesaw, Georgia.

Now to the views! I’m not going to sit here and write poetically about how great the views are. Mainly because I am terrible at that and it would come out horribly so I’m just going to share some pics from our last visit.

See what I mean? Try and beat those views from a vineyard up here! Last but definitely not least is one of my favorite things at Ott, Tuesday night open mic night! When I hear “Open mic night”, the first thing that pops into my mind is terrible karaoke with people poorly screaming Shania Twain hits from the 90’s. The one at Ott is the complete opposite. The folks that get up here to play music and sing are phenomenal! You’ll hear a variety of music as well. Everything from country and classic rock to 50’s and 60’s music, really just about everything and it all sounds great. The only thing I wish was played more is some good 90’s hip hop. You can’t beat sipping on some great wine while bumping DMX’s “Ruff Ryders Anthem”. Maybe I’ll learn how to sing and get the intestinal fortitude to get behind the mic one night. Who knows?
